Marathon Man

Contrary to popular belief we’re not just a bunch of out-of-shape web geeks.  Exercise and fitness aren’t dirty words at the HeadRed offices and Liam set out to prove the point this past weekend when he took part in the Coventry Half Marathon.

The annual event follows a 13.5 mile route through Coventry city centre and represents a significant personal achievement for all those who finish.

Liam trained long and hard in the weeks leading up to the event and his dedication and perspiration paid off as he succeeded in clocking a very respectable 2 hours and 7 minutes – a fantastic effort on what was his very first half marathon.

So a big congratulations to Liam. We’re all very proud of his achievement. And who knows – maybe come April we’ll be reporting further success in the prestigious London marathon. Watch this space!

Details of this year’s half marathon, including the race results in full, can be found on their website at http://coventryhalf.com/

Coventry college commission HeadRed

Coventry College has commissioned HeadRed to develop a new website for their student radio station, Synergy FM. The current site is feeling dated and unloved and is need of some much needed TLC.

Our work will involve the creation of a new station brand – one that presents a young, modern and fashionable image of the college alumni. The new brand will then form the basis of a complete overhaul of the Synergy FM website. Features will include a live audio stream, presenter biographies, blogs and You Tube video.

Above all we want to produce something the students are proud of. HeadRed have always been committed to Coventry and we’re very happy to be doing our bit for the local college.

In addition, Liam and Phil have kindly agreed to run a series of seminars for those currently enrolled on the college’s business program. They’ll be hoping that their knowledge of the web market and their experience of setting up their own business will provide valuable insight to the next generation of budding entrepreneurs.

And who knows – some of the students may one day become part of the HeadRed team themselves. Watch this space!

HeadRed News

It’s been a busy few weeks here at HeadRed towers.

The new HeadRed website has finally been launched in a wave of fanfare and self-made publicity. Countless hours of overtime have been worked and late night espressos downed in an effort to meet our deadline, but it’s most definitely been worth it! If you’ve not already seen the new site, then have a look and let us know what you think.

Furthermore, our makeover hasn’t been limited to the website. Our office has recently been freshened up with some new plants and foliage courtesy of our friends at Leaf it 2 Us.  Now all we need now is a water cooler and a photocopier and we’re set!

New HeadRed Website Launched

HeadRed's brand new website

2009 marks our 10th year of trading and to celebrate we’ve gone and splashed out all of our birthday money on a bit of a facelift.

Yes, that’s right, HeadRed have got a brand new all-singing all-dancing website!

The site has been brought up to date with a fantastic new design, which effectively showcases the HeadRed brand and our 10 year anniversary.

As well as the usual information about who we are and what we do, there’s also an interactive portfolio of our work, new and updated case studies and an incredibly user friendly news section.

Our new HeadRed blog provides members of the team with the opportunity to discuss and debate what’s hot and what’s not on the web. Plus, HeadRed are now on Twitter so why not follow our tweets at http://twitter.com/headredmedia

We’re all very proud of the new site, but we welcome your thoughts, opinions and feedback.

HeadRed News

Regular readers of the HeadRed newsletter will know that this is the first edition I’m writing as a married man! Yes, I got hitched last month and have only just got back from a lovely 3-week honeymoon. You won’t believe the amount of emails I need to catch up on now!

In other news, there have been some comings and goings at HeadRed this past month. We say goodbye to New Business Manager Vesh, who leaves us to take up a new position in the big smoke, but say a big hello to new PHP developer Matt Asbury.

Also, everyone at HeadRed would like to wish our junior apprentice, Jordan, a happy birthday for turning 17 today. Many happy returns mate!

June News Update

It’s been a busy month here at HeadRed towers. The sales department has expanded with the addition of Vesh Taylor-Dowson, our New Business Development Manager. Vesh and I will be working together to drive the HeadRed sales effort, with his remit being focused moreon the lead generation side of the business.

The past week also saw the release of the new must-have gadget – the Apple iPhone 3GS. Not wishing to waste any time, Danny our PHP developer rushed on down to the Carphone Warehouse and took order of one for his very own. With a faster processor, improved camera and in-built GPS compass, it’s certainly caught our interest. Expect to see one of two more iPhones appear in the office in the next few weeks!
