Mixed fortunes for HeadRed FC
The start of November saw a big change for HeadRed FC with the introduction of a new branded kit. The former blues now don our corporate red and the results are rather fetching if we do say so ourselves.
However, the new kit has not been enough to save the team from some cruel fortune this past month. Trailing 0-4 in the game versus Mount Nod the reds came roaring back with 2 goals from super striker Bowns, but just couldn’t find the extra couple their endeavour deserved.
Indeed, following a 0-3 thumping by high-flying Kenilworth Wardens their next game against Hawkes Mills couldn’t have started more badly with 2 goals conceded in a poor first half. However, despite their previous setbacks the team played with spirit and passion aplenty in the second half and goals from Bowns, Concannon and 2 from Tchena gave the reds a confidence building 4-3 victory.
Sadly, their recent hard work was not rewarded in the last game of the month as they conceded a stoppage time winner to promotion chasing Admirals Junior, with the final score finishing 1-2.
A poor month has seen us slip down the table into 9th place, but we’re confident that the team’s rotten run of luck is bound to end soon and the results will surely follow.
Come on you reds!!
