HeadRed FC fail to recapture January form

It was a sad Christmas for HeadRed FC (PSA Peugeot Citroen Colts) with the team languishing in the bottom half of the table during the holiday period. However, it seems the turkey and crackers did the boys some good as they posted their best run of results during January.
An 8-2 walloping of Chapelfields Colts on the 11th Jan was the catalyst the team needed, with hat-tricks for both Keogh and the much-lauded Bowns. This was followed up with two consecutive 4-3 victories over Leamington Hibs and Firefighers Juniors respectively.
It seemed the team had finally turned the corner, but cruel fate was to conspire against them once more. On the 1st of February the lads went down 2-3 in an undeserved defeat to high-flying Pro Santos (samba) and sadly the result knocked confidence levels within the squad.
The following fixture saw another defeat to Alvis Juniors and I’m afraid it’s back once again to the middle of the table.
With only 12 games to go promotion is looking like a tall-order, but I’m sure the boys won’t stop fighting until the final whistle blows. Keep believing.
