Online retailing hits all time high
A recent study by Verdict Research has shown that the growth of online retailing is at an all time high. Figures show that online spending has increased 33.4% in the last year totaling £10.9bn.
It seems the growing proliferation of home broadband has been a driving factor in this growth. Indeed, of 3,000 customers surveyed, two thirds have admitted they shop online more because of the presence of broadband in their home.
Furthermore, Verdict are forecasting these trends will continue over the next few years with predictions that 2011 will see online retailing accounting for a staggering 8.9% of the UK’s total retail sales, with clothing, footwear, DIY, gardening and food achieving the fastest growth.
There has never been a better time to take advantage of these trends. HeadRed are experts in designing and developing effective e-commerce solutions, a statement our portfolio can justify.

The site, which will be used to display a collection of the Herbert’s own 20th century historic art, will provide members of the public with the facility to create and manage their own virtual gallery space.
The site is scheduled to be launched in conjunction with the new collection, which will be made open to the public in December 2007.
